A NEW SESSION IS ALL SET TO ROLL...
FROM THE EYES OF AN IITian

Yet another new season . It isn't just about another batch of India's best minds entering the heavenly portals of IIT. It isn't about another batch ending their stint out here.For the IITian (still in college) it is not just about the lucrative offers or even those marginal five digit ones.
Every IITian , be it an oldie or one who has just spent one year of torture at the hollowed portals desperately looks forward to the start of a new season.Every guy on the campus hopes to have a 'reason to smile' . He hopes that finally by GOD'S GRACE( one who has not been gracefull in the past fifty years) will add some colour to the deserted campus of the IIT's that have not witnessed the presence of fairer sex for a pretty long time.The fairer sex on the campus worth talking about have only been the 'firangis'.The saddest part attached to that is that they can 'only be talked about'. Or for that matter every year one has to wait for that elusive 'SPRING FEST' .It happens that the countdown for the next fest begins the day one ends.
500:30 ...A ratio that would even make the principal of a boys missionary school proud. A ratio that ought to be written as a 'statutory warning' on the JEE brochure.By not mentioning it the IIT's commit crimes that are even more heinous than those commited by the tobacco companies. 4 years, 4 precious years of a youth are spent in oblivion.Spent admiring artificial imagery on posters and on the net.Spent with an aggravated level of social detatchment and frustration. Did anyone ever give the thoght to the fact that this might well be reason why IITians never return back to India.
Most IIT campuses are green but hey does it hurt anyone if they are a bit 'spicy' aswell.
